Terms of Business for Hire Hats
- When the final choice of hat is made the cost of the hire will be set and the hat will be booked to the customer for the date of the event and a holding deposit of £20.00 will be payable. Any fee for retrimming if appropriate will also be agreed.
- When the hat is collected the agreed hire fee will be payable together with any retrimming fee if appropriate.
- When the hat is returned the holding deposit of £20.00 will be refunded provided that the hat is in good condition. If the hat is damaged in any way then the deposit will not be refunded. If the hat is badly damaged the full purchase price will be payable.
- In the event of cancellation no refund of the deposit will be made if the cancellation occurs more than 48 hours after the original booking.
- Upon collection the agreed hire fee is payable (together with any retrimming fee) either by cash or personal cheque supported by the relevant bankers card.
- The hat can be posted if required but the cost of postage and insurance will be payable by the client. The hat must be retured two days after the event for which it was hired by special delivery post.
- The hat will be available three days before the event and will be returnable two days after unless otherwise agreed. Longer periods of hire will incur additional hire charges.
Terms of Business for Hire Hats by post
All hire and postage charges will be requested by way of debit or credit card.
For hats hired from the web site through the post the hire price of the hat will be payable together with an appropriate post and packing charge for post by special delivery which is guaranteed to arrive by early afternoon the day after posting. The hat should be returned by the same posting method two days after the wedding or event. In addition to this an authorisation will be entered on to your bank card so that should the hat be returned in a damaged condition the difference between the purchase price and the hire price of the hat will be deducted from your card. Provided the hat has been returned by special delivery the hirer will have a claim for this sum from the Royal Mail.
Terms of Business for Bespoke Hats
- When booking a hat a non-refundable deposit of £20.00 will be payable and the final purchase price of the hat will be agreed.
- Colour samples may be supplied to the Hat Box either in the form of buttons, fabric or indeed reels of cotton for the purposes of colour matching and the Hat Box will endeavour to match as near as possible.
- When the hat is blocked to separate brim and crown a fitting will be arranged and at that stage details of the trimmings for the hat will be discussed and agreed.
- When the hat is collected the balance of the agreed purchase price will be payable by cash or personal cheque supported by the relevant bankers card. Once the hat leaves the premises the only event in which a refund will be considered is through faulty workmanship or materials.
- The hat can be posted if required but the cost of postage and insurance will be payable by the client. Delivery is by Royal Mail Special delivery or other courier service.
- The hat can be made from measurements supplied by the client and without fittings but the onus will be upon the client as the Hat Box prefers to have at least one fitting.
- Returns are only accepted for faulty workmanship or damage and hats must be returned by Royal Mail Special delivery or other courier service when the purchase price will be refunded by cheque.
